Sceen'ry Thanksgiving

Appreciating Culture

Traveling can commonly be an excuse to escape the normalcy of life or a reason to get away from the familiar to explore the unknown. What many seldom think about is the familiar lives that await us at every destination. It is important to feel the exhilarating feels of venturing a new land, but it is equally important to educate ones self on the culture, lifestyle and norm of the people in the place you are visiting. Just like there are manors that come when you are invited over to someone’s home, there is a proper etiquette that comes when visiting a new country or city, because to the people living there, you are visiting their home.

A Walk Through Hvar, Croatia

When traveling during peak season it can be difficult to notice everyday landscape and truly get a sense of the town’s identity. Thankfully everything in Hvar runs at a much slower pace, albeit town’s buzzing nightlife activity goes into the early hours of the morning. The island occupies a middle ground between luxury and laid-back atmosphere. In the morning you notice florals and wild berries dripping from the balconies.

Journey Through The Highlands

Richard William Nixon. Nomadic photographer and writer trading photography for life’s basic necessities – food, accommodation and transport – in a bid to reach every continent without money. Currently based out of a suitcase, I have spent the summer moving around the UK on the merit of trade alone building the initial momentum for the project - The Glass Passport. Documenting and detailing every location and trade along the way, my style is focused on film tones, storytelling and documentary imagery.
