As we continue on our journey of showcasing one of the world’s greatest cities, we share with you some really fun things to do while you are galavanting around the city and avoiding Times Square at all costs. Some of them well known, some of them little travel hacks.

CHELSEA MARKET

It honestly surprises me the amount of people that visit New York City and never visit such an iconic part of the city. It has everything that you need. Incredible food at every turn, multiple amazing coffee spots, boutique stores and organic fresh produce. Plus, the atmosphere makes you feel as though you are a local. At least until someone ropes you in to take a photo of them.

STATEN ISLAND FERRY

Everyone wants to see the amazing lady liberty when visiting New York, am I right? But most people don’t want to pay the crazy prices and join the tourist mobs to get on the river to see it. The Staten Island Ferry runs every 30 minutes on the Hudson and you get a beautiful view of the lady herself. Highly recommend, high amounts of fun.

THE HIGHLINE

Most people would have heard of this amazing New York walkway, but if you haven’t this is for you. Our recommendation is to start down at Chelsea Market and walk up toward the city. You will get incredible views of the city, walk past some intricate architecture, and actually experience some stillness in the midst of the city that is always bustling. Plus, if you need to get somewhere uptown, this will be the fastest way.

THE COLOR FACTORY

We are never normally ones to talk about somewhere of a pop-up nature, buuuuuut The Color Factory is something else. Every room celebrates just one color and involves all of your 5 senses. It is the perfect way to escape the heat or wind and they have just announced that they will still be around all Fall, so get amongst it!

THE GUGGENHEIM

Or maybe just the museums in general. But the Guggenheim is an absolute favourite. The architecture alone draws you in to a whole new world. Housing some of the world’s greatest artworks, time slips away with ease.
